Runway has offered trends that one can easily choose from. Hair colour, nails, and makeup are among them. TikTok aesthetic trends are far from over, especially when they’ve excited what our runways have served. Playing Jili while at a salon sounds fun, but it’s also where some of the best 2024 hair trends come from! Rihanna is the one we all have to thank for this trend! It started with her rocking the honey blond locks, and then Zendaya has since followed, after her Dune 2 tour, just in time for press for her new movie, Challengers. According to Richy Kandasamy, a colourist and vice president of R+COLOR Development and R+Co Collective member, the hue of honey blond works best on a light brown or dark blond natural base. People who have cool skin tones and neutral complexions also suit the trendy hue.
90s Makeup
The recreation of Lee Hyori’s iconic 90s music video makeup, 10 Minutes, is undoubtedly proof that the 90s makeup trend is quite alive. Frosty eyes and lips characterized that era of makeup. A lip liner is another bold statement that defines the lips. However, brown lips defined the era alongside thin brows, which were seen as chic.
Balletcore
Get the leotard! Balletcore is undoubtedly not going away any soon. Pale pinks and chignons are still in, but Balletcore is about accessorizing. Balletcore hair accessories, in particular, are the most notable part of the trend: hairpins, hair ribbons, etc. Christian Siriano has a great corset braided bun, too. Don’t forget to tie your ribbons!
Oil Slick Look
The clean girl aesthetic started the surge of slicked-back hairstyles and “quiet luxury” looks. Haus Labs’ Sarah Tanno believes that the hair trend will impact makeup looks. She believes that you should start with a healthy-looking base and then add gloss on top. The face mimics the elevated natural glowing skin trend and oil-slicked lips with high shine.
Pat McGrath once more made it famous with a recent show in which she performed it. Many people have attempted it on TikTok ever since.
